What is the difference between a best-of-breed solution such as Compose by Decusoft versus a totally integrated Talent Management solution?
There are several human resource and compensation and benefits software solutions on the market today. When closely evaluated, each solution has their niche from recruiting and retention to performance evaluation and talent management. Often times these software solutions offer compensation planning and management modules as a value-add function to their core offering. However, the compensation functionality is typically the weakest link, falling short on functionality, with a limited or fixed feature set.
The compensation modules of integrated Talent Management solutions focus on basic compensation planning processes. Complex Bonus and Long Term Incentive (LTI) plans are very difficult or nearly impossible to implement with these solutions. This forces users to continue planning and managing Bonus and LTI outside the system which is time consuming and compromises confidentiality. Also, since compensation data is scattered, there are accuracy and consistency issues to deal with and reporting becomes difficult.
Decusoft focuses exclusively on compensation. Compose by Decusoft was developed to address all aspects of compensation—Merit, Bonus and LTI. Compose has a standard infrastructure that allows you to configure functionality based on your unique requirements and business processes regardless of complexity. In fact, the software was developed in layers to simplify the configuration and customization processes. You have the ability to configure, and as needs arise, change and add compensation plans and plan components

What is the difference between Compose by Decusoft and typical out-of-the-box software solutions?
If your compensation processes are “vanilla,” pretty standard, and very similar to everyone else’s, an out-of-the-box solution will work for you. Typical out-of-the-box software has a limited or fixed feature set which has difficulty dealing with unique customer specific, non-traditional compensation processes. Configuration or customization may not be possible or it may come with a hefty price tag. You will have issues every time the software is upgraded. You will be forced to change the way you do business to adapt to the software.
Compose by Decusoft is software that works the way you work. Compose has a standard infrastructure that allows you to configure functionality based on your unique requirements and business processes regardless of complexity. In fact, the software was developed in layers to simplify the configuration process. The core layer can easily be extended to handle client specific business processes. You have all the benefits of a custom solution without any of the upgrade pain.
Most software vendors show you how their software works – Decusoft asks you how you want our software to work for you.

Our highly-trained staff guides you through the entire implementation process making certain that you achieve your goals and deadlines while ensuring a seamless transition with exceptional technical support and extensive quality assurance. What makes Compose by Decusoft configurable or customizable?
Compose by Decusoft has a standard infrastructure that allows you to configure traditional functionality based on your requirements. The product was developed in layers to simplify the configuration and customization processes.
The base layer is the engine upon which everything else operates. The engine processes all compensation plan components and produces the resulting Merit, Bonus and LTI calculations. The next layer is the processor library. Processors are sets of instructions that can be customized for each implementation or pulled from the general processor library as needed. Finally, the display layer or Graphical User Interface (GUI) is configurable through simple table modifications. This allows you to define the look-and-feel of your own grids.

Is Compose by Decusoft compatible with Microsoft Office Excel?
Yes, compensation data can be imported from, or exported to, Excel. Compose users rarely need this functionality once the software is implemented since Compose automates the manual processes previously performed by spreadsheet programs. Compose has the familiarity of a spreadsheet with the added functionality and the security necessary to plan, manage and deploy confidential compensation information.
[top]
Will Compose by Decusoft work with my existing HRIS system?
Absolutely! Because Compose is platform agnostic it can bolt on to any existing ERP, HRIS or payroll system.
